TAP for Schools
Talent Acceleration Program (TAP) offers students access to the latest ICT knowledge, skills, and certifications. TAP is designed to help students excel in today’s digital economy and prepare them for leadership roles in the future.
The program includes training from top certification vendors, including:

- Fortinet Security
- Microsoft Azure
Training Delivery
TAP is divided into modules focusing on critical skills in high demand, such as computer networks, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
Target Audience
Who Can Join TAP?
The Talent Acceleration Program (TAP) is suitable for all high school learners in grades 10, 11, and 12. Think Tank aims to provide every learner with the opportunity to participate in TAP. However, due to program demands, only learners who meet our qualifying criteria will be on-boarded.
Minimun Requirements
- Must have access to a reliable laptop – rental option available at Think Tank at a cost.
- Must have access to reliable internet connectivity
- Must have ear-pods / earphones / headphones (this is optional but recommended).
- Must complete the Talent Acceleration Program registration form.
- Pay program registration fee – R750 (includes VAT).
Qualifying Criteria
- Must have valid identification (birth certificate, SA ID, or passport).
- Must be in Grade 9 or above during the year of registration or enrolled in Grade 10 when starting the program.
- Must maintain at least a 50% average in English and Mathematics.
- Must have a keen interest in developing professional tech skills.
Course Curriculum
Instructor-led
The Basic Technical (Basic Tech) course provides an overview of key technologies within Enterprise and Service Provider network environments as well as the challenges related to digital transformation. A nontechnical, practical and easy to understand introduction to the computers, enterprise and as well as telecoms networks and how they all fit together with special emphasis on data flow and communication.
Instructor-led
IT-Essentials is the industry standard for launching IT careers into today’s digital world. ITE equips learners with skills to Install, configure, and troubleshoot standalone and networked computers and mobile devices as well as software. Learners are also introduced to cloud computing fundamentals and taught how to identify common security threats like phishing and spoofing and empowered with critical and problem solving skills.

Introduction to Cybersecurity concepts and technologies as well as Fortinet's portfolio of products and services. To enhance learner's technical knowledge, skills and competency in designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions for Medium to large enterprise business. Once mastered delegates have an opportunity to become Cybersecurity engineers, consultants or even and educator, teaching individuals and business how to become Cyber-secure in a digital economy.

Courses covered in this learning program are designed and developed to introduce learners to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technologies as one of the fastest growing industries globally. Once completed with this course, learner will not only be able to design and implement next generation network solutions but will also be able to analyze cloud based data and generate reports to help improve network configurations and inefficiencies.

The FCP in Network Security certification validates your ability to secure networks and applications by deploying, managing, and monitoring Fortinet network security products. This curriculum will cover the dayto- day tasks related to Fortinet network security devices.

This course focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. In this course students will learn how to perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN.

In this courses, students will learn how to design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure and assets, work with DevOps to migrate applications to the cloud. Through the solutions architect learning program, they will also be able to design significant aspects of application architecture including user interface, middleware, and infrastructure, and ensure enterprisewide scalable, reliable, and manageable systems.

As a candidate for this certification, you’re a technology professional who wants to demonstrate foundational knowledge of cloud concepts in general and Microsoft Azure in particular. This certification is a common starting point in a journey towards a career in Azure. You can describe Azure architectural components and Azure services, such as compute, networking and storage. You can also describe features and tools to secure, govern, and administer Azure.

Program Implementation Process
1. Learner Registration & Welcome Letters
- Parents complete the online registration form.
- Think Tank issues provisional acceptance letters to qualifying students.
- Parents pay a non-refundable program enrolment fee.
- Successful learners receive official welcome letters via email.
2. Learner Orientation
Think Tank invites all successfully registered students for a virtual orientation day. Industry leaders will provide insights on trends, vendor certification benefits, and career prospects in the ICT sector.
3. Learner Onboarding
Successful learners are onboarded onto Think Tank platforms, gaining access to all learning resources, ensuring flexibility and convenience.
- Interactive Virtual Classrooms: Real-time interaction with instructors and peers.
- Discussion Forums: Collaborative spaces for students to discuss topics and solve problems.
- Progress Tracking: Tools to monitor progress and provide timely feedback.
4. Training Delivery
TAP for schools is divided into modules focusing on high-demand ICT skills with specific focus on computer networks, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Instructor provides guidance every step of the way, providing on-going support and coaching. Students will also enjoy the benefit of learning from mentors through regular virtual feedback sessions and motivation from industry professionals.
5. Program Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
Think Tank ensures program milestones are met, including exam bookings, preparation sessions, and continuous monitoring. Progress reports will be shared with the parents and the learner for timely corrective measures.
6. Certification Ceremony
Think Tank will organize a certification ceremony for all certified students, with prizes for top achievers. This event encourages excellence and recognizes students' for successfully completing program milestone.

- If you meet our program minimum requirements, definitely we will be happy to have you in the program.
- Think Tank can provide a rental laptop and or internet data at an extra cost. You may expect to pay between R500 and R750 for rental laptop and a minimum of R450 for at R200GB or more. If these costs are not within your budget, we encourage you to explore other viable options, it is however critically important to have a laptop and internet access in order to participate in the program.
- The TAP Schools program is a virtual instructor led training (vILT) program. You will receive full training, support and step-by-stem guidance from a highly experienced virtual instructor. You will also receive mentorship and coaching from industry experts helping you make success of your learning journey.
